EVOLUTION OF
CLÉ DE PEAU BEAUTÉ
SKIN
SCIENCE
Since its launch, Clé de Peau Beauté
has
continued its research on every aspect
of skin and published
unique theories
derived from new findings.
This long, dedicated study has revealed
that
skin possesses the ability to process
and act on information
on its own,
a phenomenon referred to by
Clé
de Peau Beauté as Skin Intelligence.
WHAT IS SKIN INTELLIGENCE?
Skin Intelligence is skin’s innate ability
to distinguish between positive and negative stimuli,
to achieve and maintain its ideal condition.

THE LATEST
EVOLUTION OF OUR
UNIQUE SKIN SCIENCE
A world-first discovery* has
advanced our research on
Skin Intelligence**
and the
profound benefits it brings to skin.
For the first time in the world***, we succeeded in discovering the presence of Odorant Binding Proteins in human skin. These proteins, which we call sensor proteins, are located between the top layer of the epidermis and the stratum corneum. Our scientists revealed that these proteins intelligently detect and selectively remove negative stimuli by trapping and eliminating them.
First identified in the skin inside the nasal passages, these sensor proteins play an active role in determining the thickness of skin's epidermal barrier. When there are more sensor proteins in the epidermis, skin is able toeliminate bad stimuli, and actively deliver positive stimuli to maintain healthy cells. As a result, the epidermis naturally increases in thickness and the supply of intercellular lipids becomes smoother –contributing to a more resilient and youthful-looking skin.
Our researchers also found that the number of sensor proteins in skin decline with age. Finding a way to maintain their presencein the epidermis became our researchers' focus

An exhaustive, global search led Clé de Peau Beauté researchers to Radiant Lily (scientific name Lilium Candidum). An astonishing flower thriving in the wild for over 3,500 years, it was recordedas early as 1,500 B.C. and is believed to be the oldest cultivated flower in human history. Said to be the oldest species of the 100 variants of lily currently available, Lilium Candidumcaught the attention of our scientists because of its intelligence and unchanged beauty over centuries. They began extensive research into its botanical properties and efficacy as a skincare ingredient.
